Mission
Statement |
|
The goal of "The Sunday Sports
Section" is to give our listeners the very best weekend sports show in the
Orlando and central Florida area. We aim to provide you with a can't
miss program that gets your sports weekend off and running on the
right foot. With our banter, our back and forth, our give and take, we
think you'll find the show quite entertaining, and if you're like us
you may have some trouble ceasing the laughter. Do Ben and I ever
agree on anything? Talk about an odd couple! You, our listenership and
our great sponsors, are what makes the whole thing possible. We value
your participation a great deal, and always encourage you to call us
at 1-888-300-ESPN with your sports takes, questions, and opinions.
It's our pleasure to serve you, Orlando, as well as all others
listening throughout the country and around the world. So remember -
when you're waking up and reading your Sunday sports section,
listen to mine. Tune in to "The Sunday Sports Section,"
Sunday
morning's from 10 AM - 12 PM Eastern Time, only on Sports Radio 1080 WHOO (Hooo-waah)

Marc Ryan
Host
Marc Ryan is the host and founder of "The
Sunday Sports Section" on
Sports Radio 1080 WHOO, Orlando's ESPN.
Born in Syracuse, NY in 1977,
Marc also spent time living in Houston, Texas, Fort Collins, Colorado,
and Lakeland, Florida as a youth. Having known since the age of 11 he
wanted to be a sportscaster, Marc would like to thank Sports Radio
1080 in Orlando as well as his family, friends, and mentor Paul Porter
for helping him achieve and live his dream.
Marc graduated from The
University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunications in 2002 at
the tender age of 25.

Section," Marc serves as Orlando Director of Marketing for Crestcom
International, the nation's #1 rated Management Development Company.
If you receive a business call from Marc and think his voice sounds
familiar, that's because it probably is.
Marc is known for his good lookus, amazing tukus, sports knowledge, savvy, and confident (never
cocky) nature. I wonder who wrote this bio? When in doubt, just
remember that 60% of the time I'm right all the time. Boo-ya-ka-sha!!! |

Chad "I'm"
Brillante
Co-Host
Chad Brillante
is a co-host of "The Sunday Sports Section."
Born in Melbourne, Florida in 1985, Chad was raised to be an ultimate
fighter since the age of two. Once he realized that he had no shot in
that profession, he started playing baseball and basketball like most
young children.
Chad's biggest accomplishments as a kid were winning the AAU
Basketball Championships for the state of Florida at age 12 for the
South Beach Heat and winning eleven straight ten person poker
tournaments at his fraternity house, an event called "The Terminator."
Chad had hoped to play college baseball but was hit with a terrible
arm injury and had to take the role of drinking, gambling, and, "Oh
yeah," studying, in college at the University of Central Florida.
After college Chad plans on sticking with Radio/Televsion and possibly
becoming a comedic writer for PAX or C-SPAN.
Chad's list of favorite teams is a simple - any Boston team, as that's
where he's from, and the UCF Knights.
Finally, for all the girls out there, if you are ever walking in
downtown Orlando and you pass someone that looks like Brad Pitt's
identical twin, or David Beckham having dyed his hair black, it's
probably none other than your friendly, energetic co-host of "The
Sunday Sports Section." |

Mike "Baby" Ruth
Co-Host
Michael Ruth
joins "The Sunday Sports Section" staff, coming from the University of
Central Florida's top rated nationwide Radio-Television program.
Michael was born and raised in Palm Bay, Florida. As a native
Floridian, Michael is an avid fan of the Buccaneers, Gator's, and of
course YOUR ORLANDO MAGIC.
"My diploma might say University of Central Florida, but I bleed
Orange and Blue"- Michael Ruth.
A Class 3-A All-State basketball selection his senior year of high
school, Michael originally began his college career at Florida Tech in
Melbourne Florida on a basketball scholarship. Michael choose Florida
Tech over the University of North Florida, Florida Southern and
Florida Gulf Coast University.
During his Freshman season at Florida Tech, Michael red-shirted to
help him adjust to the up-tempo style of college basketball. During
his sophomore year, Michael busted onto the scene for the Florida Tech
Panthers. After his sophomore year at Florida Tech, Michael realized
that focusing on a career after basketball would benefit him more then
making basketball his career. He transferred to the University of
Central Florida to study Radio-Television.
Michael has worked for WGKN, UCF's student radio station prior to the
Sunday Sports Section. A little known fact that can be added to his
impressive list of accomplishments is that Michael was the Under-Water
Basket Weaving gold medalist in the Pan American Games of 2001. |

Jeannine Taylor
Producer
I'm Jeannine
Taylor, and I've been the producer for "The Sunday Sports Section"
since 9/06. I came to the show by being nosey when an ESPN sales guy
came to my day job. I bring with me an Associates Degree in
Radio/Television Broadcasting and one year experience at country, rock
and talk radio stations where I produced the live college football and
basketball coverage. I've also done some television at a station in
Montana. By far, the most fun I've had so far is in sports radio, and
"Hey" - if you're going to do sports radio who better to start with
than ESPN, right?
I am a self professed football freak. I live for pro football. My
team, since the age of four, has been the Dallas Cowboys. "How bout
them Cowboys!" I really enjoy working with the guys here at "The
Sunday Sports Section," and I genuinely love our listeners. I enjoy
the guests we have on the show and talking to all the people we do
each week. And besides - I'm in control of all the pretty buttons and
the phones. Yea!!
I have a dream guest list I'd like to interview. Who, you ask? Well,
thanks for inquiring! None other than Emmitt Smith, Tony Romo, Bret
Favre, Tony Dungy, Michael Strahan, Warren Sapp, John Madden, Terry
Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Paul Tagliabue. Hey, I have high
expectations - what can I say? So, how 'bout it Marc? Make it happen!
My dream job is to work in the broadcast division for the Dallas
Cowboys and if I can't do that, well, "Look out, Michelle Tafoya!" |
